FTCThe Federal Trade Commission  (FTC) is finally stepping up to the plate and making a concerted effort to regulate Blogging on the Internet.  This is a pretty big deal for the blogging community, especially if your Internet marketing program includes blogging, patient testimonials, and video. This very post is now being held to a certain set of standards.  Just like HIPPA, the guidelines are vague and largely unenforceable, but at least standards are being set.

Orthodontic Facebook Virus AlertIf you are using Facebook as a marketing tool in your Internet orthodontic marketing program, there is a virus floating around that is affecting Facebook and MySpace users.

I received an alert this morning from Dr. Randy Womack, editor of Ortho Town Magazine.  He is right top on top of things even though he is Europe lecturing on Invisalign for two weeks.

Orthodontic Marketing - Stick Your Neck Out

If you are still hiding in your shell when it comes to adding video to your Internet orthodontic marketing website, it is time to come up for air, stick your neck out, and reconsider your options.

The latest Nielson report was just released on September 15th, 2009.  The number of videos watched increased 41% last month compared to August of 2008. Unique viewers were up 18% and the number of videos a viewer watched  is up 19.6%.

As you may have noticed, I have a blog instead of a website.  When I decided to market myself on the Internet as an orthodontic marketing coach, after extensive research and training, I felt my best option was a blog vs a website to get the word out.  It has served me well.  In fact much better than if I have opted to start with a traditional website.  I have orthodontists and professionals from all over the world reading my content.
