#1 Flip Camera I Highly Recommend in Orthodontic Marketing
Orthodontic Marketing Aficionados and Wanna Be … Finally… a Flip camera I will recommended for easy web video creation.
You are always asking me what video camera to buy for your practice. One of my video marketing coaches Mike Koenig tested and is now recommending a new Flip video camera on YouTube. Mike is considered the #1 Video Camera Guru when it comes to Internet marketing video. This camera is a must have video camera for your practice. It is:
- small
- inexpensive
- very easy to use
- has an external microphone jack (a must in my mind for good video)
- high quality video and audio
Watch this video to find out all the details and why Mike is recommending the camera.
Now I suggest you go online and buy one today… you won't be sorry! You can purchase the camera, extra battery, and case for under $200 while supplies last.
Here is the link to Amazon but they are out of stock on some options. Here is the link to Kodak online. They still have cameras in stock, but not for long… with their $30 off special while supplies last before 12/14/09.
I myself have three different types of video cameras. HD Video, Standard Video, and the Flip camera when it came out on the market. I was never happy with the Flip. I just couldn't recommend it because of the poor audio quality. Internet viewers will be more forgiving with poor video quality than poor audio. Mike Koenig taught me this. However, technology is amazing and obviously changing at lighting speed. Kodak found the solution. This camera will increase my collection to four.
Go For It… Make 2010 the year of adding video to your website, blog, YouTube, and social networking efforts. I recommend you create good video content viewers are interested in watching. Remember, you are documenting your own personal PR message. "Perception and Reality" of your practice is online is key to a successful Internet Marketing campaign. Make it a good one… There is more to video marketing than point and shoot.

I have a Logitech camera mounted on the monitor screen.
How is the flip camera mounted and how does it work better than the Logitech for uses such as recording for video e-mail?
What are the various uses for the Zi8?
We work currently with Orthosesame who has a social networking set up. The expenses are not a low amount. Is there a way to professionally start a twitter or Facebook funtionality without an expense of 5 or 6 hundred dollas a month?
Are you familiar with a web company called Hello World (HelloWorld.com)? They offer a service to incorporate video email but I have found it is not universal and accounts with AOL do not work well. What are your feelings about video e-mail?
Thanks for your feed back.

@John E. Murphy DDS, MS:
I have two logitech cameras myself. One Internal and one external. With the Kodak camera you can stage your backround and lighting better for a more professional look. I was never able to accomplish this with a logitech. It always looked home made. The camera mounts easily on a tripod and can sit anywhere and look professional.
The camera will work great with video emails also. There is no problem sending video emails if you set up the process correctly, even AOL. Internet marketers do it all the time either off YouTube or Amazon AWS video storage.
However, where the camera out performs is testimonials and educational video becuase you can add an external microphone to get rid of ambient sound (background noise). With Logitech you are very limited to where you can shoot the video, with the Kodak camera, you can take the camera, microphone and monopod or tripod anywhere. it all fits easily in purse so it will be very easy to use in the office.
Video in social networking is very powerful. Whether you do it yourself or outsource to a vendor, there are protocols for success. It works if you work it. Use my test to determine if your social networking sites are successful as a marketing tool Internally, externally, and on the Internet. Only you can determine your RIO on investment. If you would like to set up a free evalution of your services, let me know….

Well I’ve also recently heard about a new camera from Kodak, the Kodak Zi8, that is said to vastly better than the Flip camera and it has an external mic input jack.
That means improved video quality with great audio quality in a video camera the size of a blackberry.

I agree the Kodak Zi8 is a great camera. I recommended the camera on the blog in 12/09 when it first came out.
